Yeah, I always thought that it was a vocoder too. I think that Jonathan Davis from Rokn uses the Vocalist on his harmonies as well.

Actually, it's an emulation. The real thing is a crazy looking box with a keyboard attached to it. It was made by Korg, as Sparky pointed out. Man, you guys are young...and I'm getting old.

The old moog ones were just as freaky.....my old mentor had a bunch of weird shit like that lying about. Talk-boxes, theremins, and whatnot.

Hmm, isn't the technique being used called vocoding? Or is that also derived from the original analogue thing? I know it started that way but these days a vocoder stands for the technique being used, not being an emulation of the original thing perse.

By the way, if anyone is interested in buying a Digitech Talker (I guess it's the same vocoder technology as the Vocalist), I'm selling mine. Mint condition, only used for some recordings a few years back.

For a while I was thinking of getting the Electrix Warp Factory vocoder. Been wondering if it was any good and also if there are any good plug-ins out there. ?
