D&D 4th Edition

It is demonstrably true that my long slide into bankruptcy (many years ago, now) began with my purchase of the "Stormbringer" cover Artist's Proof, at Michael Whelan's table at WorldCon in 1986. It was expensive, but triple-matted, heavy as fuck and absolutely gorgeous. It still is; it hangs in my living room in its green-hued splendor to this day.

I have a signed limited edition print of that cover, I bought from Whelan ( Glass Onion ) many years ago. My favorite print ever. Unfortunately, during a move, the print took a .22 round (long story) and has a little hole in it now. It sickens me actually, but I don't know what I can do about it. Never seen another for sale.

I can't remember seeing prints (photoprints or lithographs) of that one for sale either. Must have been a looong time ago. When I saw mine, in 1986 at the Atlanta WorldCon, I'm fairly sure it was the only one he had for sale. (I'd have bought a print instead if he'd had one, since it would have been a lot less expensive. )

I was actually standing on that exact spot in the same room in the Atlanta Hilton this past weekend at Dragon*Con...it was definitely a 'pause and reflect' moment.
