I've just found out that Danny will be playing an acoustic set tonight, as a special guest at the Day Of Despair event at The Empress, Bradford City Centre.

Sorry about the short notice, but the guys organising the event wanted to keep it a secret - even from me, and I'm the assistant manager of The Empress.
Hopefully anyone in the West Yorkshire area reading this might still have time to rush to Bradford by 8pm :ill:

Oh, and entry is free AFAIK.

I'll try and get some piccys for the rest of you, and I think someone maybe videoing the event.

anybody who can tell us how the gig was???

Fantastic, Danny didn't come on till midnight, and it proved a popular change of pace after the torrent of death metal before him.

He played a very very long set, which was an indication of how much he and the crowd were enjoying it - he managed to play most requests, including Raining Blood by Slayer :loco:

Anathema songs (carefully picked out from his little black book) he performed included Pressure, Temporary Peace, Fragile Dreams, Forgotten Hopes, and possibly Judgement (I kept on shouting Judgement out as a request, but I was so drunk by that time that I honestly can't remember if he played it).

Other songs included, Comfy Numb and Wish You Were Here (Floyd); Strawberry Fields (Beatles) and many many more, but I can't quite recall now :Smug:

I briefly spoke to Danny afterwards, and he said he'd really enjoyed the gig (which he did for free) and would be willing to come back sometime - hopefully I'll be able to give everyone a better heads up next time
