there is a part in the song where Dan does some killer high pitched singing/screaming like King Diamond does. I know this isnt a normal vocal technique for Dan, but is there any other songs where he does the high pitch stuff?

its a killer cover by the way. if you havent heard it, check it out. its on one of those mercyful fate cover albums, the one Dwell Records put out i think.

It's a hair metal kinda band with Dan,Åkerfeldt and buddies. They recorded an album...well I have no idea where you can find the cd but at least you can download it from the UM DC hub.

The Steel recording is called Heavy Metal Machine and consists of 3 songs only: "Heavy Metal Machine", "Rock Tonite" and a mock-ballad called "Say Goodbye To Love". It's pretty good, the guitar sound is nice and crunchy and it is kinda cool to hear Dan hitting those notes. Where did I get my copy? Dan burnt a copy for me a couple years ago. Other than that, I have no idea where else it can be found.

Actually the original Picture 7' (not picture cd!) has only 2 songs, so Say Good Bye To Love was only spread through the internet and those cds that Dan burned for people. I'm glad to have the original, since it was never released on cd...

I haven't heard the song you mention, so this may not be quite the same, but Dan does some high stuff (not much, just a few words) in a Diabolical Masquerade song called 'Hater' off the album 'the Phantom Lodge'.

One word in the chorus of Unicorn's "Hide" off the Ever Since album...
"You can hide your heart but you can't deny your love..."
goes high on the last word. not much, but i like it.
