The debut album 'Prey for the Future' from Raleigh, North Carolina technical power thrash band Dark Design will be released this September through Heaven and Hell Records.
Since early 2010 the band Dark Design comprised of members Ray Lewis (guitar), Mike Joyner (guitar), Andrew Bertrand (vocals), and rhythm section Matt (bass) and Robbie Mercer (drums) have built a strong fan base in their local metal scene. Their technical prowess and progressive song structuring have often been compared to that of Death, Toxik, Iced Earth, Realm and Annacrusis. As buzz of the band began to grow they were requested to play the 2012 Warriors of Metal Festival in Ohio. Meanwhile the band was working on their debut album. Finally the album recorded by John E Wooten (Widow U.S) and mastered by Jamie King at The Basement Studios is ready for release.

When Think This came out I thought it was dull. I went back and listened to it again recently....still didn't care for it.

You think that about everything BUT dull bands. 'Think This" was miles ahead. The first one was just any other Overkill wannabe thrash. And I would guess you would say the same about the first two Heathen albums too?

Well I would not have expected that.

I had world Circus years ago and it was ok. I did not hear 'Think This until maybe eight to ten years ago and it blew me away.

got World Circus the week it came out and really liked it....I got "Think This" when it came out but I was more into hardcore / punk at the time so it never really sunk in with me. I went back and listened to it recently and still didn't think much of it.

Same with Heathen...I had Breaking the Silence on tape and it is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Nothing they have done has compared to it to me.

My mistake, I meant to say that I figured you would prefer the earlier ones.

Huh? I don't hear any Overkill in the first album. Totally different bands.
