Maybe I'm a metal newbie. But I just heard these guys for the first time. (thank you http://www.geocities.com/dosxx71/). I am going to get their CD... and i guess they are working on new stuff. If you haven't heard them before I encourage you to check them out. Beautiful.

Which one are you going to get??? Their first two have a female vocalist Elsa Martin, and they are awesome. Their others after have a male vocalist and are very good also. Also check out Fairyland, that is Elsa's new band.

Not sure. Think I'll take a trip to FYE at the Macy's mall in union city and see if they have any (so I can prelisten). Otherwise, I'll probably order one from when Elsa sang, and one from their current vocalist.

I have 'Hall of Olden Dreams' with Elisa on vocals and recommend it wholeheartedly. She isn't your traditional female vocalist by any means, but sounds great just the same.

Yeah she sounds more like a 'tenor.' Akin, to the singer from Oktober Project (not metal). I like it.

I wouldn't say that...

Hall of the Olden Dreams is well produced and has some songs that are very good in a Rhapsody kind of way.

Shadowland is absolute ass, especially the production and the singing.

Their first 3 albums are more typical neo-classical power metal style.

1) Shadowland - Debut and horrible production. Was rereleased, some good songs, but overall weak.
2) The Hall of Olden Dreams - Some say their best album, got them public recognition
3) Gates of Oblivion - Heavy on neoclassical pieces, solid album

Then their singer left and they switched to a male singer.
4) Dark Moor - S/T - Great album. Still some neo-classical parts, but now more straight heavy metal with keyboards.
5) Beyond the Sea - Same vein as the S/T

Overall, I like their new direction better than their old. The self-titled is their best album IMO. Beyond the Sea tried to do it again - but seemed to short and too rushed.

The main problem with the new singer is his accent is so heavy its hard to understand his lyrics.

She is in Dreamaker now.

Dreamaker is Ugh IMO. The first album was decent, but the second went and now their sounding nu-metal which does nothing to me.

Was weird how they both broke off - and neither Dreamaker or Dark Moor sound like their old sound.

Not a bad outfit. I agree with many that they have had their ups and downs. The S/T one is probably the best, with the male singer, but I do like several songs before then with the female singer.

Elise is Dark Moor. Without her the albums are just so so.

And Fairyland is not really her new band these days, considering her band Dreamaker has 2 releases, and she has an upcoming release with her band Hamka. Basically, I absolutely love everything she is involved with and would kill to see any of her bands. Of course, the ideal situation is her rejoining Dark Moor.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that Elisa's voice is deep and powerful(sorta like a guy's), and their new singer sounds like a girl?

Why did Elisa leave, anyone know?

Can't thank you enough for pimpin' the station...

For those that don't know...the link that was referenced was the link to Rakosh Radio. Obviously, Rakosh hasn't seen this post or he would have thanked you himself.

Rock on!

Given all of Elise's different projects, I wonder if any of them have ever popped up in Glenn's list of possibilities. I know they probably wouldnt draw much, but the music is certainly consistent with the festival.
