Dark Tranquillity at Summer Festivals 07

Summerbreeze's bill is really low-profile this year if we exclude DT a bunch of other bands. But surely is not as good as the past years. Wacken is much much better (duuh-uh), too bad DT doesn't play there.

Anyway I'll go to Gods of Metal which is a good festival: this is the bill for June 3rd (DT play that day)

I think it's a great bill! I'll finally see Dream Theater, Dimmu Borgier and Symphony-X live. Too bad DT replaced Porcupine Tree.. I'd have preferred them to replace Blind Guardian (I hate that band!).

You've never seen them live then? Their show is pretty dull. Also, Hansi is very good at being funny without intending it.. like one time, he made his first announcement and said "Now follows the first and only highlight of our gig tonight!". He keeps complimenting the audience, too.. but after the third time, he runs out of expressions and still keeps it up..

He was quite subtle on tour here, yet I loved the show. And I was the only [stupid one] to crowd surf over a sea of teenage boys and girls... man, was it hard to find someone to lift me up - you won't believe it Fucking kids...

I love PT but never seen them live -.- anyway, blind guardian just sucks, come on.

Actually, BG was one of the better live shows I've ever seen. Perhaps it was the crowd feeding him, but Hansi was spot on with his running commentary and the like. And the performance was actually quite good as well. It may have been an anomaly, though. Funny, I don't even really like them any more. Amazing how 4 years can change musical interests.

Well, their last 2 records weren't that great for me (and I never was too crazya bout Imaginations, as probably everyone who is into them), but I used to love and listen to them years ago along with far more extreme metal.

Their live DVD is one of the best I've seen - just some atmosphere to it, Maiden's Rio DVD is fighting it for #1 spot though =)

Im thinking about going to Graspop with a bunch of friends, andyone who´s been there and can tell me what it´s like?

its biiiig but u really have a great billing every year, 2 tents and 1 big stage, a lot of different food places... and be perpared to a hot hell of dust (if the weather is good) or a mud party (if it rains)...

When i saw DT there, they were playing under one of the tents, so we even had a full light show . And, yeah, if its warm, its going to be really dusty...
The crappy thing is that, for food and drinks, you have to buy tickets (which, of course, are different for both... ).
If you need help with the train connections to go there, i can look on the Belgian railway site.

I prefered Wacken, maybe because i was with friends this time, and not only with my brother (and 2 dumb friends of his). So most of the time, i was alone because my brother and i didnt want to see the same bands.
tickets used to be quite expensive ( +/- 100 euros) compared to Wacken, but now, Wacken also costs 99 euros...
