I haven't noticed anything like that, I have the promo version though (have the cd on pre-order). Awesome album though, I agree.

EDIT - Saying that, listening now and it is sort of crackly on some of the guitars - I wish I'd never read this thread now haha.

+1, i still hope it's just the promo. But since magazines and e-zines get the promo's to rate them... would'nt you want to put up your best mix ?

This album isn't half of what Layers of Lies & Expanding Senses is.
I was looking forward to this album, but now I'm kinda disapointed.

It would really amaze me if the promo was much different from the real thing... I´ve heard it and I must agree on the mix, it´s too loud and muddy. The guitars are really woofy and at places it sounds real phasey - as if the guitars were recorded in a bathroom. I have all the respect in the world for these guys and they are AMAZING musicians, but the mix doesn´t do justice to the music.
Anyway, I hope I´m wrong and I´ll be buying this one as soon as it hits the store.
