"Dave using an EMG 85 in the bridge would kick so much ass!"

Dave Mustaine replied:

"uh, no it wouldn't. ew!" and then closed the thread.

I repeat: uh, no it wouldn't. ew!



No wonder his tone rules so much.

That's true!!! I never found a forum with men like andy or James that help us a lot in the recording process of this great kind of music!!!

Most of you are probably unaware that I used to be an admin and website designer for Megadeth.com from 1997-2000. It's a crazy board over there, definitely a rowdy group of individuals.

Dave has his opinions and they're very strong, but one thing I've learned about him over the years is that he is also very open minded. Dave his his own sound and I think the DV8s would sound great with any pickups. My friend Mike from DevilDriver recently got a DV8 with EMG 81s custom installed, and it is the single greatest guitar I've ever played!!

This forum rules. Andy is too lazy to delete all the off-topic self promotional stuff that makes it on here, so even that can fly . On top of that, regardless of what aspect of recording you ask about, you can always expect to get professional advice.

I'm not a big fan of over-moderation, so I probably won't be seen down near the Megadeth forum. It probably explains why the Opeth forum is so rampant right now too.

I'm an avid Megadeth fan, and Mustaine is one of my all time fav guitarists, perhaps even political commentators, and always will be, and I can't stand how often he gets bashed by "cyberwaste" (to use the FF term) for speaking his mind, but I wouldn't mind if he toned down just a little bit on some of his tirades. And he uses the M-word in every interview--ouch!

Not that I am saying he didn't write some kickass music in the past and still does to a degree(there a couple of songs I liked immensely on the last album like Kick the chair and The Scorpion), but I think he should start taking himself a little less seriously and concentrate on the musical side of things.
