For those who went, Daylight Dies (home to Katatonia webmaster Jesse) were one of the better bands of last weekend.

After all the grind and other death metal tripe, it's good to see a band not so obsessed with blastbeats and mile-a-second riffs. Fans of Katatonia and the like should really check 'em out when they play live. Great presence.

Also, the band's album "No Reply" comes out sometime in October on Relapse. I've yet to hear it, but from what i heard live I can't wait.

ps. Jesse, you have a safe flight home?

man, i just got a copy of the new album, and it looks/sounds great. i've only had it for a few hours, but everything is very tasteful. the layout is beautiful (travis smith) and really fits the music on display. nice job, jesse and co. expect a review shortly.

Believe it or not, I just got 'Idle' today. WOW! Great MCD. So the new one comes out in October? Can't wait.
