ROYAL HUNT guitarist Marcus Jidell has issued the following letter:

"Dear Friends and Royal Hunt fans.

Due to my new commitments with EVERGREY I will not be able to be a part of Royal Hunt anymore.

The last five years has in every way been a great journey for me. I always felt very fortunate to be able to play with the great musicians of Royal Hunt and to have had the chance to get to know the supportive and wonderful fans of the band.

It has been years of great fun, new experiences in music and we’ve visited places I’ve never seen before. I met so many people on the road with Royal Hunt that I really hope to see again.

So now the time has come for me to move on and I want to send Royal Hunt my gratitude and I wish you all the best in the future!”

Conversely, after repeated requests from fans and concert promoters alike, Royal Hunt and their former lead singer DC Cooper mutually decided to reunite - for a very few selected dates – in order to perform the entire Paradox (their first concept album from 1997) and several of “everybody’s all-time favourite” songs from that period." Show dates have not yet been announced.

That's good news ! thx.

The last album with Mark Boals isn't the greatest they produced although it's pretty solid.

Moving Target is my favourite album :) And I guess the "repeated requests" from fans are demands from Japan.
Several of everybody's favorites from that period..... How many albums did DC cooper sing on? Moving Target, Paradox and the live album from the paradox tour right?
That's 2 albums. (which totally rocked though) but still, the news is written for Japanese fans I think :)

Hmm I always liked the sound of Royal Hunt's music but still need to get around to listening to a whole album.

I don't think I've ever even heard this group mentioned outside of this forum! I remember checking them out ages ago and they didn't really impress me, but I, too, have yet to hear an entire album of theirs...

Best one to get is 1996. Double live album wich is imho one of the best live albums ever made.
