Our drummer recently got this setup. Having a HELL of a time trying to get things to work properly. He has the 5 piece trigger kit, which he has on his drums and the brain (unfortunately) doesnt let you load your own samples.....but still, something must be completely wrong. I've never dealt with triggers before, so I'm sort of clueless here.

He can WAIL on those drums and the triggers will not trigger the samples, no matter how much he messes with threshold/sensitivity settings. But if he taps or pushes on the trigger so it presses "into" the drum heads, it triggers the sound (quietly).

Is he maybe doing something completely wrong? The triggers seemed to be pressed pretty firmly against the heads. We are just very limited on actual band practice time and wasting an hour dicking around with these triggers isn't really possible.

sorry i don't have experience of those exact triggers (our drummer had the model up from the redshot for his kick and, as i mentioned in my thread, i think it is either sh:t or broken). They should work better than that though. Other than the obvious check all the cables and RTFM, this link might help? http://www.squidoo.com/redshotkick

I take it he has his own kit? probably best to mess with the set up before rehearsal otherwise you might find you get demented! I dont think these triggers are the best but if you use it on a single kit and spend time setting up the head tension, they should at least work...

I'm not sure why tapping the trigger by hand would only give a quiet sound though, that sounds like it might be set up wrong on the module...

Losten your trigger and your head so it is just wresting, you might need to stick a pillow in if you are getting double triggering.

LOL. Actually.....never had any luck with that set of triggers. He kept breaking the kick triggers before even getting them to work properly. Hasn't tried them since.
