Deathcult For Eternity & The Chasm (WAY overrated)

Mm, I'm surprised when people who previously preferred Conjuration... to Deathcult... don't now like The Spell... the most.
I prefer SOR to their other work, personally, but they really don't have any bad albums.

That CD rules. It's not out of tune. They incorporate some dissonant harmonies occasionally, but the album is not as a whole out of tune.

You must be completely tone deaf. I like that album quite a bit but it's PAINFUL how obvious the rhythm guitars are out of tune with each other from the left to right channel. Not to mention that the acoustic guitars are almost an entire semitone off from the already out of tune ryhthm guitars. If it wasn't a pretty good album, it would definitely be one of the biggest musical disasters I've heard because of that.

it's hardly out of tune in any unintentional or ineffective sense.

How can you say that? Listen to the part at 4:13 on the first track.

Someone else mentioned the acoustic guitar. It makes me cringe a bit when Metal people try and write intricate acoustic parts.

I do like certain riffs on this album amazingly but does nobody else find the whole Glam-Metal image / solo writing influence a bit off putting?

Why listen to this when there is Immolation, Gorguts and Deeds of Flesh?

Doesn't sound out of tune to me, but then there's only one other DM metal album I know better, so it wouldn't do now. Or rather, I can hear that it might be out of tune, but it seems to fit superbly. The acoustic guitar is fitting on all counts, obviously not there as a gimmick. Their image isn't particularly "glam", nor is their solo writing. "Traditional" perhaps, but not glam. I'm not too bothered about style anyway.

As for why one should listen to it; read the reviews at M-A (including my own), they cover it.

Because it's better than anything those bands have released.

Yes people, it's true.

You know stuff like this would be better in a IRC channel, you know a chatroom.. i've been digging through this forum for the last hour and most everything is a conversation about one single thing or a question regarding one single thing.... seems like a waste of bandwidth

Conjuration is my favourite and the new album is also very good. I couldn't get into Deathcult - the guitar tone is so weak that it's almost unlistenable.
