What Dec 13th show? Sorry I have been away? Do we have a full compliment of maidens then? :)

Not at the moment. The Maidens will be joined by members of other tribute bands at the show - mainly our L.A.-based friends from The Little Dolls/Diary of a Madwoman, Just Like Priest, Damage, Inc., Domination 101, Highway to Hell, Electric Funeral and Surfing With an Alien, as well as San Francisco's own AC/DShe.

And now, time for a recap:

There were a host of opening acts before the Maidens & Friends show. The only one I caught was the San Diego-based Canobliss, and they were surprisingly good.

Shortly after Canobliss ended their act, the Maidens and Chris Brightwell opened the show with "Losfer Words (Big 'Orra)." Deb then appeared to perform "2 Minutes to Midnight" and a few other Maiden songs before Damage Inc. took over to perform a couple of Metallica songs.

Members of Just Like Priest (and Frank's mini-chopper) then went on stage to belt out some classic Judas Priest songs. Deb, along with members of Diary of a Madwoman and Electric Funeral, did some Ozzy and Sabbath tunes.

Perhaps the major show-stopper of the night was the raven-haired beauty Carol Lyn (of the cover band Rockslide). Her stage presence was absolutely phenomenal as she performed "Hallowed Be Thy Name" and "Wasted Years." Just as equally hot were guitarists Pamela (of AC/DShe) and Courtney.

Through the halfway point of the show, Mark brought in some shot cups for everyone on stage. They all took some swigs and danced around while playing Pantera's "Walk."

RJ, our very own Eddie, performed "Fear of the Dark" and AC/DC's "Highway to Hell." Deb and Frank did a duet on "The Trooper" before the Maidens closed the show with "Run to the Hills."

I've been told by Red Shirt that I may have achieved a new record for the Maidens, as I drove through over 1,000 grueling miles of rain, fog and snow from Bremerton, WA, to L.A. just to see them perform live. During the show, I had the opportunity to also meet Paul, Darlene and Brian Maiden for the first time.

After the show, I joined the whole gang to Mark & Linda's place. Mark & Linda were very thoughtful to give me a Christmas gift. I had given Deb a good karma bracelet for her birthday, which she wore on stage. My gift to the Maidens was a giant Toblerone bar (You better share it with the girls, Linda.:err:), while Mark got a really sharp katana.

Of all the Maidens shows I've been to, this is probably my most memorable, as my friendship with the Maidens and Mark has grown much stronger than ever. And while I'm on my way back to the Philippines for an indefinite amount of time, I will always remember that I spent my last days in the U.S. with my closest friends.

Up the Irons!

Live to Win,
Jeremy

Thank you so much, Sara. I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to you after the show, as a whole bunch of people went in different directions after Paladino's closed their doors. We will definitely meet again. Maybe even in the Philippines, as you've got to try San Miguel Beer.:kickass:

drumslut - Sorry, I didn't capture "Icarus" on video, but I'm sure someone in the crowd did.
