I heard the album yesterday - didn't blow up my skirt. The mix isn't as good as they have had in the past. Songs don't quite seem as good.

I'll give it a few more listens and have a better impression of it then

Deep Purple is one of the few bands who have made consistently decent records throughout their career, at least since 'In Rock', and not including 'Who Do We Think We Are'.

I have had Banana's for about a month now. It really grows on you 7th Son. There are some fuckin rockin songs on there. Pictures of Innocence is an instant classic. Has a chunky and dirty sounding chorus. There are a a few songs that remind me of Dio era Sabbath. A couple of slow songs, especially Walk On aer brilliant. Walk On is a blues number that is very simple, but has a killer groove.

I say buy it. I havnt seen it in shops anywhere yet, I got a promo copy, but I will buy it when it see it as well.

AND - I have heard through the grapevine that they will tour Oz next year definatly. You heard it here first. I think maiden need to hire DP's manager!!
