Pretty technical and melodic thrash metal here with tons of cool riffs to enjoy. Shame about some of the deathcore vocals as the dude's clean voice is good enough that he could have used it throughout. Won't stop me liking it though cause instrumentally speaking the band shreds hard.

I was unaware of these French thrashers until recently. The Prodigal Child is a huge improvement over their so-so 2011 debut, State of Disillusion. The singer's harsh, almost screamed vocals does a band in this musical style no favors, but his melodic vocals are decent. The music is the real draw here - lots of chunky, catchy riffage that gets changed up often enough to make things interesting. Thrash that does not try to sound like it was written in 1987 - this is a good thing.
