Licensed from Roadrunner to Sensory Records for North American release, Delain's sophomore album APRIL RAIN is being heralded as one of the top gothic/melodic heavy releases of 2009. Comparable to popular acts like Nightwish and Within Temptation, Delain was initially formed by ex-Within Temptation keyboard magician Martijn Westerholt. The band have been receiving amazing reviews from both American and European publications and fans upon release of APRIL RAIN, and in addition to more European live dates, the band has plans of touring North America in the near future as well. Stay tuned for more details.

"This is really enjoyable stuff from start to finish, lots of heavy crunch for the metal crowd, enough keyboard flourishes for the prog crowd, and plenty commercial sounding to grab some of the women out there." 4/5 - SeaOfTranquility.org

"This is huge sounding, well done goth metal... I believe this Dutch outfit has reached the top tier of this style with this release." 8/10
- Hellbound.ca

"Delain are relative newcomers to the scene, but they possess a musical prowess that is far too interesting to ignore." -

I know Delain has been mentioned on this board a few times already in other recommendation threads, but I have hear such great things about there new album that I thought they deserved their own thread to give folks a little more insight. I've heard nothing but good about the new album, although I have not had a chance to pick it up myself yet. Any thoughts?
