Katagory V News Letter

Katagory V have just posted the demo-version of three news songs from the upcoming 4th album, and also give an update from the studio!

Katagory V have reported that they are now 75% complete with recording their upcoming 4th album titled "Hymns of Dissension", and are finalizing several details concerning the actual release.

"We are seeing light at the end of the tunnel!" comments bassist Dustin Mitchell, "We are now about 3/4 complete with recording. All the basic tracks (Drums, Bass, guitar rhythms) were recorded live over the course of the last three weeks. We are now recording vocals, guitar leads, and a few minor other parts. So far, the theory of recording live worked out far better than expected; what normally would take us four months only took three weeks! Not only that, the energy level is over the top, and the production and sound is huge! It looks like we'll keep this method of practice in the studio, It is more ecinomical and sound, literally. Not to mention, this is the first time I can remember where we are actually having FUN making an album since we first formed the band. The overall moral and commitment within the band has been the best I can remember"

"Concerning the release date for the new album, we already know the target date that both the band and labels want, but we can't officially say what it is right now until we have things 100% finalized, but it will definitely be sometime this Fall. However, there are a few other details concerning the new album that we will make public in the next few weeks, such as the track listing details, the official release dates, as well as the artist creating the cover art for the album, so stay tuned!"

In the mean time, Katagory V have finally posted the demo versions of three new songs set to appear on the "Hymns of Dissension" album! These three 30 second clips from the demo recordings are now avialable on the bands official website for steaming and/or downloading by clicking here!
A new poll has also been created on the homepage of the website as well, so be sure to vote for which clip is your favorite!

The clip of Forlorn Child left me somewhat like this: :zombie:

Not the type of music I could expect from Katagory V, sounds very interesting, though.
Who' s doing the growls? Lynn? I 'm not sure.

Workforce has a vibe that reminds me much "A New Breed of Rebellion" and I like it a lot and Apologetic Heart is very promising too (but the clip is too short, so I can't judge it with safety).

LOL!

We figured that Forlorn Child clip would get that reaction. it's the only song like that on the album. Actually, it is me doing the extreme vocals on the demo, although I don't know if I will be doing them on the actual album... it might be someone a bit more professional at that style.

"Workforce" is probably my favorite song on the album right now... of course that might change after it is mixed down, but that one has a lot of calssic metal balls and chunk, with a great hook-driven vocal line.

I agree the clips are a bit too short, but we'll release one or two longer versions of the songs, possibly teh actuall albusm version, oncewe get closer to the albums reelase date.

We have a few added suprises as well with the album.... but you'll have to wait a few weeks to see what that is.
