Disconnect your modem!
First goto the start menu, programs, administrative tools, component services. Select 'Services (local)' and scroll down the list on the right till you find 'Remote Procedure Call (RCP)' Right click it and select properties, now goto the 'recovery' tab and change all the drow down options from 'restart the computer' to 'restart the service'. OK the changes and restart your PC.
OK now you can connect to the net again in relative safety, go here:

Select your OS and download the patch, disconnect and install it, then restart again.

Waiting to be kicked off...it usually restarts the computer every min...i've been on for a few minutes so maybe it's worked!!! Thanx guys! now i can feed my neopet!

If you press alt, ctrl & delete and close down as many programs as u can (not explorer though) it may help. Helps me when I get that message. Normally happens when the system resources get low (real pain in the arse if your addicted to destruct o match like me and it fucks up).
