i am interested, the reviews are good and i didn't have a whole lot of faith in this game until now.

Been playing it for a couple of hours. The cover system is a bit strange to get used to, mapping it onto keys and the instantaneous change of pov when you come out of cover is kind of weird but dude, this game is pretty much awesomesauce so far.

Sure, I'll be a fanboi, but I've never played the first game and barely played the second one although I do own it. I really like this game, but I'm not going to say it doesn't have it's faults. The cover system needs a little tweaking as you'll sometimes be near a corner and your character wont be able to move toward it until you go out of cover and then back into it. Maybe they will fix that. The graphics and modeling don't look bleeding edge as far as the faces, so the graphics are slightly dated looking as far as that goes, but still it makes up for it with the environments and gritty atmosphere. It has a Bloodlines feel to it once you get to a hub area, which I like. And I need to go buy the soundtrack, it's awesome. Quite a thinking man's game suited for stealth and subterfuge rather than arcade shooter thrills.

Never been a fan of the series from a gamer's point of view.

what i'm hoping for is a storyline that's anywhere near as good as the one in the original Deus Ex. if you'd have played and loved the first game, you'd get the hype on this one. for me the game was an unique and amazing experience in many ways...i haven't been as attached to any recent games.

of course, nostalgia might cause disappointment at first, but if the game is actually good, better than the shitty "Invisible War" effort years ago, prejudice will quickly subside.

the worst that could happen would be that i'd actually love the game and lose the small amount of free time i have currently

I played the leaked beta and I didn't liked it, the cover system is a pain to me and make the game looks like Gears of War (which I hate), so I pretty much uninstalled the game after 2 hours of gameplay.

I'll be waiting for Carmack's Rage so I can try out the console command and tweak the shit out of ID tech 5. Carmack's engine are the best thing ever.
