Devil Driver guit rec - Pics

yeah i happened to have seen those before. Wish i had all the gear (jackin)

Come on, look at the distance mics for the gats.

I'm friends with Ross, the engineer who produced the first Devildriver album. Incidentally, I designed and built his website.

Awesome guy, incredible engineer with a lot of great credits in just about every style of music imaginable. However, he and I have had some interesting discussions/arguments about metal guitar tone LOL.

The drums on that album sound fucking amazing, it is worth checking out for that if nothing else.

if you go back to the record this picture is from and listen to the guitar tone, you won't care to know how they did it, lol

it sounds like poop

I wouldn't say it's terrible, but certainly nothing special; kinda thin and reminds me of a Pod (mostly cuz it's undergained IMO)

Can anyone explain why there is so many guitar cabs in use? I know it makes mention of a stereo setup.

Yeah not a fan of the guitar tone on that record, which is kinda funny considering the effort that must have gone into setting up all those microphones... can you say overkill? Drums sound quite good though.
