Devildriver 'Dead to Rights' single

Why does nobody say that about Gojira's Esoteric Surgery?

Because MESHUGGAH DOES NOT OWN THE 000 0 000 0 000 0 000 PATTERN. Get over it - that's like saying nobody can use gallops after Iron maiden.

Mix is cool, guitar tone rules, snare/kick are pretty standard DD/Sneap IMO, but I'm finding the cymbals pretty loud and harsh on this end. Dez ruins it for the most part, as expected.

*Edit* listened again with fresh ears, cymbals are fine. Really dig this overall!

btw. listening to the video i hate the textures guitar sound...
and gojira wins the best production cup this time ;-)

If you use double bends then it shows you have no originality because your just copying chuck berry. Same if you walk along the front of the stage while playing guitar.

This sort of logic hurts

LOVE the guitar tone. I like this band for the most part. I was disappointed with their last release, songs were too slow and boring.

I've always felt that this band would sound significantly less heavy without their drummer, as his playing usually sounds more aggressive/heavier than the rest of the band (generally speaking), but I this song sounds more cohesive.

My band has played with DD before and they were all pretty cool dudes. Dez is kinda stand off-ish, but he kinda sticks out from the rest of the band a good bit in terms of age, experience and fans, lol.

shit the bed! that sounds amazing! Glad they stepped the song writting up as well. Am i hearing 5150 III's?

Guys, glad you dig the tunes. This album is a beast... heh.

Guitars we tracked with a les paul raw power with emg's through a diezel herbert (with one of my custom chellee overdrives) and 5150 (with zakk wylde overdrive) through a mesa traditional cab.

Leads on this song are a my CAE modded 800 through bogner cab. Most solos were played on an ESP phoenix with a bareknuckle pickup in the bridge that i cant recall. We used my chellee overdrive for leads as well.

Tons of different amps and tones on this record for leads, cleans and overdubs. Lots of fun with that stuff.

Bass was a fender jazz deluxe. Andy and i never spoke about whether he reamped the tone for the bass. Sounds to me like he did. Maybe he can chime in.

Thanks for the info Mark!

Can you give us some details about the drums?? I love the snare sound.

Best regards.
