I'm not a Slayer fan by any means, but of those three I've listened to their last two albums which I personally thought were pretty awful, not only musically but lyrically especially - unless maybe the listener is an angst-ridden twelve year old rebelling against his parents and local church, and in need of some support...at least that's the impression I got from God Hates Us All. However, I've never cared for any of Slayer's material (older stuff included)so my opinion is somewhat irrelevant.

Well Kerry King's jabs at Christianity usually aren't of the most intellectual sort... And yeah most of GHUA was awful... though it did have a few good tracks. I really liked CI though aside from Jihad and Eyes of the Insane which were mediocre IMO. DIM was a decent album... some good songs some bad. But yeah when it comes to old school Slayer I'm a fanatic.

Their riffs don't sound like nu-metal either. I hate discussions like these. Newer Slayer riffs are generic as hell and just not good. I just do not hear original ideas or concepts or distinct guitar playing.

Yes but you said the MUSICIANSHIP not the songwriting was amateurish. There is a difference you know. So you don't like the SONGWRITING on the new Slayer albums.
