Diabolus In Musica/ God Hates Us All/ Christ Ilution??

The musicianship is very amateurish on all three especially for a band of 40 year olds. :) .

You really are just a total arse. You like to make sweeping statements as if you're making some profound observation when in fact you're making useless comments of no use to anyone.
The musicianship isn't in question here and, with Slayer, never has been. Does a band need to be full of cunts like Yngwie to be good? I fucking don't think so.
This is just like the comment about "Nile are so redundant". Yeah, okay, try and make some fucking sense and back up your assertions rather than making a one line observation that helps no one. Nob.

So, all that said, every Slayer album since Seasons is shite. The songs are good on most of them - I particularly like Diabolous - the problem is the guitar sound which renders them unlistenable. The guitars really sound like crap on every recent Slayer album, as if the distortion pedal isn't working properly. They're playing extreme metal with Gretsch semi acoustics from the sound of it.
A bit like W.A.S.P. really.

I hate when people make musicianship comments and someone thinks they like wanker shredders and trust me I do not. I do not think musicians need to be cheesy and virtuosos.

So, as usual you make a one sentence contribution which means absolutely nothing. Your lack of musical knowledge is apparent.

Either say something worthwhile, or shut the fuck up.

I prefer you to shut the fuck up, as it's clear you have nothing worthwhile or intelligent to add.

You still haven't replied to the question about your stupid comment about Nile.

And I love how you edited your post when you realised "virtuostic" wasn't a real word, you halfwit.

I've always been a big fan of God Hates Us All.
Yeah i think god hates us all is a great album but unfortunetly not everybody see that... i have to say that seassons in the abbys is my favourite album slayer ever but if somebody ask me wich do you prefered in those 3 records i will say God Hates Us All and also Bloodline is one of there best songs ever writting

My board name implies my favorite album. I grew up on Slayer and have been following them very closely so I can see what they were doing on every album. Not to be a know it all asshole, but IMO Slayer never made a bad album. Diabolus In Musica was not a bad album, not their best, but not bad. I personally think that today Slayers music is angrier than it's ever been. Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood, South, Seasons, those are all great albums I grew up listening to, but through the years their "new" sound has grown on me to the point where now the old stuff seems weak to me. The lyrics to the newer songs dont require a dictionary, but they are to the point and in your face. Slayer used to show their anti-Xtianity in a way that was vague and watered down, today they just throw it all out there and as a big fuck-you to the world.
I will admit Kerry King does try a little too hard in the fashion department, but that has nothing to do with the music.
Sure there are songs I'm not too crazy about, but then I listen to all the other shit metal out there and find myself putting Christ Illusion or God Hates Us All back in the CD player.
The old stuff? Hell Awaits, hands down.

CI is the best out of those three. It's nothing compared the there older albums like Seasons of the abyss or Hell awaits.

red = blasphamy
for someone completely slayer oriented you disappoint me. god hates us all was average. DIB and CI sucked ass. but slayer is still the reigning champions of metal in my eyes.
magenta = i agree
why? well, no clear motive, just kill and kill again. if you survive my thrashing ill hunt you till the end.my lifes a constant battle. the rage of many men. homicidal maniac.
tom arraya's shriek = the staple of western civilization

I still believe that Slayer has run dry of ideas; this became evident on God Hates Us All. Not that I need innovation or originality to enjoy a band's music, but Slayer has become a joke, a caricature of their former selves.

Well all bands who have been around as long as they have are bound to drop in quality. But in all honesty I really enjoyed the last album... yeah it's no Hell Awaits but what do you expect? And they still put on a GREAT live show... seeing them in August for the fourth time. :kickass:

I actually liked a few songs off the album Diabolus in Musica (espicially Screaming in the Sky) but that and the other two listed are some of the worst metal I've ever heard of my life. Horrible effort from what used to be a really great thrash metal band.

yeah men what the fuck are you talking about.. NU METAL?? slayer has never been nu metal at all, come on give me a break... haha

They actually became nu metal on Diabolus in Musica and so after, how can you not tell they turned nu metal?

Edit: Better yet why do you think they aren't nu metal on Diabolus and so on.

well men cause for me it dosent sounds like nu metal for me is more Hardcore metal or something, i guess nu metal are those bands like Papa Roach or Linking Park or even Korn and i just dont see anything between slayer and those bands...
