Diamond Amps?

1) The amp sounds so bad, big farting sound, no balls. Maybe it's just a very poor recording, so I can't judge too much.
Amp companies don't understand the importance of a great sample.
Just the japanese krank distributor that someone posted here had the best samples on-line.
2)Rusty cooley sucks major ass!No heart and no soul!
the other guy on the samples page has a great feeling on the instrument and has a great taste as J the Tyrant said!
I don't understand why people love that shit, shred music has died a lot of years ago!! it happened to grunge so to shred stuff
If you want someone shredding listen to loomis a lot of taste and feeling period!

Bah these days there aren't so many shredding records as in the 80's.
The only good stuff back in the day were the mighty Marty Friedman w/ Mr Becker and George Lynch.
I still love Satriani and Vai but I don't consider 'em shredder, they're musicians not just "runners". They can play fast and at the same time give something special to the the people listening to their stuff.
I can remember every note on Alien love secret, while if you put a Micheal Angelo Batio's record on I can't remember any notes because it's just speed, no melodies no heart.

Smy - have you checked out his video Shred Guitar Manifesto? His solo album? Not what I'd call imprecise. Rusty's a monster, period - look at what Loomis has to say about the guy on his webpage, or what Petrucci says about him in interviews (like the GW with the Gigantour feature), listen to his stuff (not piss-poor recordings on amp webpages); there's just no two ways about it. Bloody hell, if you start going fast without warming up and you sound like that, don't warm up again until the day you die and get yourself signed to Shrapnel.

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

haven't checked his background. The clips on the Amp-site sound terrible to me ...

It does kinda sound like Rusty, but it seems like either he couldn't hear what was going on too well, he was having an off day, or he just took one take and said that was that - I personally can't record well without a LOUD, DISTORTED monitor because I can't hear how things are coming out, and that clip compared to his Outworld and solo stuff seems like maybe he was in a similar situation.

All clips heard and all things considered, Diamond Amps do seem to be pretty awful. I'd like to try one out in person, because honestly I have trouble believing that an amp can sound that bad without putting serious effort into making it do so. If it's over in Houston, I'm about four hours away, so I'll have to find something else to do in the area to justify heading over there...

Upon further consideration, fat fucking chance - I'll just keep waiting for a 5150.

Jeff

I'm digging the shit out of this thread because I just checked into these amps and a FUCK LOAD of artists are loving them, including Keri Kelli, who I love because he plays with Alice Cooper.

I just checked out most of the samples they've got up and they sound really good. I dig them.

DOES ANYONE HAVE REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SHIT?

Yeah, me. Having seen this post after a few fucking years.

Yeah, Keri's endorsing them. I know a ton of guys who have used these amps... and even more than that that Im not saying.

They're fucking garbage. Dont waste your time.

I saw a band at a fest a few weeks back, an all girl band (can't remember the name), and they were playing the Diamond amp with the green LED's...The Phantom, IIRC.

Sounded pretty good there. The price seems about right for a small amp company.

Hahahahahaha, looks like you pulled a NECROTHREAD yourself here, Sloan. But check out my experiences in this thread, I really loved 'em there, so I too am still curious! (and bummed about their rep)

You know, Ive heard that too... oddly enough... still not going, lol.

Ok, how about this:

Buy an amp that REALLY doesnt sound any better than anything else out there for the money, and WHEN it fucks up, and it will, you'll be stuck holding onto it while they drag their fucking feet and make excuses.

Better? Kill this thread, and that company, and move on. Say hi to Peavey and Mesa for me while you're at it
