Andy, did you ever try Framus Cobra/Dragon amps ?

I can hear a little Marshall voicing, which could be cause for all the bad press the original got on certain forums (in regards to schematics/design).

I personally think the amp is tailor made for leads, at least the one I have. Edge II is pretty smooth and good for legato type stuff. I'm not much of a lead player, so YMMV. I do like Edge I for rhythm, though. It isn't near as high gain as my 6505+ and the voicing is pretty different, but they mate well together.

In recording our CD, I found the Divinity to be thicker from low mids to high, or more even maybe. Also, it was much more defined, although that could be attributed to the lower gain. With the 6505+, the high mids are more pronounced, but it doesn't feel as tight as the Divinity does.

I also found it to take the EQ in front of the amp really well. I've tried boosting my 6505+, but never really liked it, as I felt it really only seemed to sound like it was boosting the mids, and making the bass seem less "there". And, if I EQ'd the lows back in, it negated the effect of the boost, IMO. But with the Divinity, boosting only the 3 middle sliders on my EQ (+3 @ 400, +5@600, +3 @ 1.6kHz) seems to get me into 6505 territory from a voicing standpoint, but it is still tighter, a bit drier, and still more even across the freq. spectrum.

As for the cabs, I really dig them. I can't say anything nice about the casters, those were replaced the day I got the cabs with Mesa casters. I initially contacted Madison with questions about their cabs in regards to construction, speakers, etc., so they were my first interest. The Divinity was a nice (and welcome) surprise. Being the only guitarist in our band, running a 2 half stack setup allows me to do things dynamically that really helps fill the sound like a 2 guitarist band would.

at the moment i've only used it to re-amp solos for World Under Blood, Rise, and Burning Human... mixes from each will be forthcoming. Last night i used it to beef up the rhythm guitar on a "radio rock" mix i'm doing of the band Seven Wiser.
