So like the title says I'm remixing a track I did a few months ago. How's it sound compared to the old one? I hope I haven't been wasting my time

In comparison to the old it sounds a lot better. The guitars are much more focused into their own area. The old mix the guitars had too much around the upper mid-range that was causing some problems with the drums and overall definition. New mix is much clearer.

^Really?

Cool, glad you think so haha. Yeah I thought the old guitar tone was quiet a hog once I started mixing using a new one. The mix overall is still a little bright but that's my fault bumping the highs up in the mastering stage. Any suggestions for the mix itself?

How about this one?

Wow it has come a LONG way and sounds a lot better! Everything is definitely sitting in its space a lot better now. Only thing I can point is that the drums(kick/snare) are getting a little lost. Some more tweaking on that to bring them upfront and this should be great! Make sure you don't spam your master limiter too much as it will definitely eat up all your transients and take the life outta the drums hehe
