Did Mike Patton guest on Bjork's Medulla?

Someone told me Patton was involved on Bjork's Medulla disc. Is that true? What does he do? Sing back up? Duet with her? Do some vocal production? Nothing?

The album is completely made up of vocals, often run through effects processors and with tons of overdubs, and generally without more than one or two of the voices actually singing words. There are a few guest stars known for doing bizarre vocals (Mike Patton and Dokaka, that crazy japanese guy who did those vocal covers of songs like 'angel of death,' are the only two I can remember) doing "percussion" tracks. Patton's on two tracks I think, maybe three...I can check the booklet if you want to know which but don't feel like looking for it right now. It's a pretty damn good cd in my opinion, it's really truly bizarre at times but it's wildly creative, you should at least check it out even if you think you'll hate it.

EDIT: That video is him recording one of his more inconsequential parts, and on the CD that particular vocal line was pitchshifted and stuck way in the background. He's pretty upfront on one of the tracks.

Hey wankerness, that's some cool info. Cheers bro. I'm a huge fan of Bjork's Homogenic. I loved the endlessly layered, superb production. Is Medulla anything like it?

It's kind of similar, but since this album is ENTIRELY vocals it necessarily has a different sound and different song constructions. If you like her earlier stuff you'll probably still like this, though. I think it might be my favorite of her albums (Homogenic and Vespertine are about tied though).

Hey bro, any chance you could upload a snippet with Bjork and Patton going at it? No problem if it's too much of a hassle.

Yeah, no problem. In this clip the beats and weird noises/whistling are Mike Patton, there's also a choir singing, it's some weird stuff.

Here's a bit of the other song he's on:

He's much more in the background on this one, he's doing some of the lower counterpoint as well as the "drumbeats" - this clip is two short sections of the song.

This is truly majestic stuff. Thanks bro!
