Actually that's a total WIN considering the new economic system was designed specifically so small market teams could compete. Whereas sports like baseball and basketball are rigged so that the most popular teams/players are in the championships.lizard said:LOL at the NHL once again they lose, two of the smallest possible media markets in the championship.
not my point. television ratings my friend. if you aren't a hardcore hockey fan and you don't live in these two areas, you aren't watching, which means advertising revenues are WAY down.dorian gray said:Actually that's a total WIN considering the new economic system was designed specifically so small market teams could compete. well, yeah, but who cares? The crowds are sell-outs at least. And Edmonton has already sold out for the entire next season. Yeah, I'm sure the NHL AS A COMPANY is missing out on those advertising dollars but neither of these teams are - they wouldnt have expected them in the first place. Chalk this up as a win for the NHL.lizard said:not my point. television ratings my friend. if you aren't a hardcore hockey fan and you don't live in these two areas, you aren't watching, which means advertising revenues are WAY down.
