I normally post over at Harmony Central as agent orange but ive lurked around here for a while, though never wanting to post anything as you guys are so goddamn good at this stuff! Im gradually getting better, so i thought id see what you thought. Recorded this yesterday, but had to redo the guitars when i got back from work today as they werent that good, theyre still not perfect but you get the idea. Its actually two bars of 13/8 and one of 7/4, but the first sequence is one bar of 13/8 and one of 7/4, just to confuse you even more. This is the last mix im doing on these crappy PC surround speakers, i ordered some Tapco S8s and Isopads the other day which should be whistleing their way here as we speak (yay!)

Its my usual RG7321 --> TC Booster dealey --> Diezel Herbert --> Your face setup, but the delicious riffs are all new. Its the top one named Taint as it was the first word to come to my head and the hilarious good image search unicorn sealed the deal. Theres more original stuff on there, but its mostly mix tests, but check out Fifty Four and Eleventy if you dig it :)

Enjoy folks, lemme know what you think!

Your guitar setup is perfect for your playing style. Your borgir cover is also pretty damn cool.

(also saw this at HC)

Cheers dude, didnt know there were so many HC people on here. Id like to get the guitars a little more in your face without dominating the mix as ive heard in other peoples recordings, but i guess its just trial and error to get it sounding right

indeed, your trooper cover rules!
stunning solos, who did the first one ?
bet its a martin! :D

First solo was me, my buddy mat did the second one, but has since redone it as it was a little sloppy. Its actually been sent to Adrian Smith to check out as mats sister goes to school with his son and he said he wanted to check it out when he heard we were doing it. The axe i used was my dads 70s Guild D44, the other guys had nice new electroacoustics with cutaways and light strings, but even though it easily sounds the best, acoustic shredding with 12s is hard work, especially when all the solos have to be in the stumming end of the neck becuase of the lack of access! It came out pretty well in the end though :)

Cheers for listening

i'm really digging that trooper cover (smoking jacket one) such a beautiful acoustic sound. whatever guitar is in the left channel is so smooooooth!

red dwarf has been played on a ton of pbs(public broadcast) stations in the US. I also own the entire series on DVD.

i didn't think they'd actually started with the remake.

There was a remake made for american tv, just like the office and a few other british shows, but it was totally dire. Be thankful you havent seen it, red dwarf is the balls though

Hahaha LMAO at that Trooper cover!!
That Diezel soudns fucking crushing, though. What a sound!

Cheers dude, the trooper thing is all pretty tounge in cheek but its a blast to play. The diezels a great amp, especially with the TC Booster, but in terms of a recorded tone, id like to get it sounding more upfront and in your face without dominating the mix. Just listening to bulbs stuff tonight has given me a benchmark so ill see what i can do tommorow, but im kinda stabbing in the dark at the moment
