Im just creating some artwork for my EP and I was curious to ask all that have done this before what dimensions the covers should be...to ensure no distortion creeps in during printing!

Thanks in advance!

what kind of cd cover are you doing? cd booklet thing? you should probably google search "CD templates", it'll come up with some free templates, i think..

Its just a front album cover and a inside page *not booklet*, I would get the actual things printed via a company * CD duplication & artwork printing* so I just need to get the artwork itself to a decent size before I send anything off.

Haha yeah, well ive used the guys in question before and they did a good job. My draft Image is 1600x1600 I was just curious to know weather that would cause problems later on.

Depending on what your picture is that should be alright, but for future endeavors you may want to double that size or even triple it for your final presented file. More the more detail, the bigger it should be really, if you want ppl to see all the small stuff if there is any.

Yeah, well the design is fairly basic, I wanted to go for simple but effective not a huge landscape style front cover. Its mainly black background.....some high quality texture blended in....my logo and thats kinda it! The basic logo was made by somebody else for me so I don't have a choice on making that any bigger but I can always make the image bigger thus making the logo smaller. Blah ill post the image up when Ive got the final bits in.

That sounds more resonable :)

But yeah, its a very simple cover!
