Dimentianon - Demo
Self-Released - 2005
By Brandon Strader

Hooray for lo-fi black metal recordings! Especially demos and such. You know lo-fi kvlt black metal demos are little nuggets of gold, and they make you look good if you have one, maybe even pick up some chicks... never helped me though. Anyway, I'm proud to announce Dimentianon's little 4-track Demo of unimagineable terrors!

These guys have it down! The harsh guitar tone that bleeds into the cymbal crashes, gut-ripping fast leads, slightly distorted black metal screams... though the reverb is missing on these! The vocals are not quite so grim without being caked in reverb. The music is extremely catchy, which is odd... Some great true black metal arrangements! It's all held together by the spectacular performances which happen to be played very precisely and tight. If you're looking for some good lo-fi black metal, this is it.

This little Demo thing is extremely short though, only 4 tracks clocking in around 21 minutes. I suppose for the full experience, we will have to hold on for Hossanas Novus Ordo Seclorum, the follow up to Seven Suicides, planned for release sometime in 2006.

8/10
