Early 80"s ? Who was "da Man ?"

Well if I had to pick, early-mid-eighties my fave would be Udo, but he also had the best band. Of those three..... Ronnie ruled. "The voice of metal" in my ears.

In this order:

Dickinson
Dio
Halford

Dio was awesome and Holy Diver is a real classic. There's no doubt about that. But I've always liked the air raid siren better. Just think of Children Of The Damned or Hallowed Be Thy Name. As for Halford y'all can flame me but I have never been a big fan of him or the Priest. I love Painkiller and have the Metal Works best of but that'll do it for me.

In this order:

Halford
Dio
Dickenson

This is a hard one, they are all great to me, but it has to be Halford, you can have Maiden without Bruce, Black Sabbath without Dio but not Priest without Rob.

Halford
Dio
Dickinson

I never thought Dickinson was that good. I started to like him when I heard "Accident of Birth" I still consider this album as one of my favorites. Since the 90s Dickinson started to sing a bit lower and I really started to enjoy listening to him. He's great on the "Live in Rio" DVD.

Halford
DAN McCAFFERTY (Nazareth)
Hey Hawk, remember the old Samson stuff when Bruce Bruce sounded exact like Ian Gillan
Dio's newest is great IMSO

Dickinson!!! - What a legend.
Dio - Still great but I prefer Dickinson.
Halford - I've never really been a big fan of Halford or Priest. They're a tallented bunch no questions asked but I just find it really hard to get into them.

Give the kid a cookie! ;)

Regarding the thread, early 80's, how early? Because Bruce disn't start to shine up to "Number Of The Beast", I don't like his work with Samson.

After 1983
Halford
Dickinson
Dio

Before 1983
Halford
Dio
Dickinson

Are you kidding?!! there is now way I could choose between those 3 singers... no way!! This reminds me of the "Priest or Maiden" thread... my brain just locks up and I can't answer. And if I was to answer I would change my mind 2 minutes later.... and then again 2 minutes later... and so on.

Dio-Kill The King
Halford-Saints In Hell (or anything of Stained Class)
Bruce Bruce - Hallowed Be Thy Name

Those are my fave vocals from the GODS

Warrel Dane - The Learning (lyrics are ... is there a better discription of amazing)
