Disciples of the sacred oath II

And the translation for the Arabic part can be found here, together with an explanation of the song by Kobi
http://www.orphaned-disciples.org/site/lang/en/2010/01/05/disciples-of-the-sacred-oath-ii/

The lucky ones that bought the Disciples fanpackage of ORwarriOR will have the shirt with the text- exclusive for the fanclub (-:

Ahh, that's great I gonna have this disciple's robe!
Would be cool to have some writings in Arabic and Hebrew on it as well. Like the words "salam" and "shalom":
Israel_and_Palestine_Peace.png
- one can even spot the similarities in how these words are written, similarities of characters.

I dont want to spoil all the fun, but there is some Hebrew written on it. You can't spot it on this image, but trust me that it's there!

And the song is indeed massive! I really think it's one of the most amazing pieces of the album. Nice and dramatic- with guitars, growls, lay lay lay bits and ethnic parts. YAY! Turn it up :hotjump::hotjump:

Followers are we, disciples are we all
Bonded by a sacred oath, as we heed the silent call
Though we know it not, our purpose is but one
To crack the night sky, letting in the sun
The life we live is not enough; we know there's something more
A place that frightens most, what lies beyond the door
Still searching for the truth, the paradise before
Have we lost the path, denied innocence's shores?
Like a ship afloat at sea, a Flying Dutchman are we?
Destined to roam the seas, locked out without a key
Is it curtain call on this theatre so black?
Will the actors all bow down before the ending stark?
Torches lit as the flames light up the dark
All it takes is a spark for us to leave our mark
War is a gaping wound an appetite that knows no fill
Do not bleed for sand and stones mend these wounds and heal
Break bread with us, nomad - hear our tale
How brother fought brother as fire burnt the sails
An oath we took, one we shall not fail
Steadfast we stand
Oak and shield are we, water in the grail
Lay down your swords, blood and flesh you share
Seed of Abraham, sons of Ishmael
Grieve for ones lost, memory stains the trail
The road to or-shalem
الله نور السموات والأرض مثل نوره كمشكاةٍ فيها مصباح
يهدي الله لنوره من يشاء ويضرب الله الأمثال للناس والله بكل شيءٍ عليم
Translation:
Allah is the light of heavens and earth, his light is like a blessed niche that needs no fire to set ablaze. Allah guides to his light those who find him in their hearts, and sets forth parables for mankind, Allah is cognizant of all.
Shall we see the end of war, blood brothers?
Or shall we fill another grave, for ourselves we couldn't save
Weapon of mass obstruction, our hate does blind us all
To the grief of a widow's tears, to the sum of all our fears
Throughout these blood-red years
For land, for faith
For that eternal thirst within, that we pray for death to fill
For revenge, for hate,
For these innocent souls that with their lies they steal
We view this land of destruction,
After the siege that broke through the wall
A trial is held for the guilty, before a court of their pears
"Sentenced to death!" is the sound that they hear
For war, for death
For the pain bestowed upon those they swore to protect
For us, for them
For taking our rights and our will to object
Land. Faith. Revenge. Hate. Death. Us.
Them. Fight. Stand. Live. On. We. Must.
Or shall we fill another grave, for ourselves we couldn't save

Thank you for posting the lyrics. I think in this case it is very important to read them. There is a guy posting at Facebook who is very angry that OL used verses from the Koran. Ofcourse he can have his say to, but I really don't agree with him. What I like though, is that posting this song online with the translation of the Koran verses, starts a meaningful and respectful discussion on the net. At least we are talking to eachother.

Anton, Ananth, this is really something for you guys! I bet you would have lots of good points to make on the topic :) (and Im not being saracastic here)

i Replied to those guys from facebook ....they are really misinformed ! i feel sorry for them !

Some people ask where is Disciples of the Sacred Oath I
You can find it as a bonustrack on the deluxe edition of "El Norra Alila", it was not included in the first editions of the album.
For now the album is out of stock everywhere. I will inform you when we have it available. Probably in the Disciples shop soon.

My collection of El Norra Alila
(clockwise) on the top right is the last digipack with Disciples I as a bonustrack, under that one, the cover of that digipack
then you have the normal jewelcase edition and again on top is the very first edition of the album in a digipack, quite rare to find nowadays.

I would love to listen to that song sometime. As for Disciples Of The Sacred Oath II, I've included my opinions about it on the review that I'm working on currently. It was also going to feature in my presentation in school on friday, about the Middle-East [maybe close to 45 minutes talking about misnomers, exposing the ground reality, all while showcasing the major Orphaned Land connection in between it all] and Metal. Last time I focussed on culture permeating through the the 'western' heavy metal, but didn't restrict it to a certain geographical region. Hope it turns out good :D

I've seen Kobi and Yossi mention in several places that this is their 'life project'. As crazy and fanboi-ish as it may sound, it is for me too. I don't quite know what clicked but their work, is deeply inspiring and moving, and quite definitely changed my life.

Amen to that Ananth. I know what it is you mean, it happened to me too- that click- when I first met them in 2004 I found my place and my goal.
And I don't care when others don't understand and think it's crazy of me. I prefer devoting my life and energy to something positive and trying to make a difference in this world.
So you are not alone

thanks for posting the lyrics, they are amazing. i specially love this part

it reminded me of this:
"The blood of Abraham, God's father of the chosen, still flows in the veins of Arab, Jew, and Christian, and too much of it has been spilled in grasping for the inheritance of the revered patriarch in the Middle East. The spilled blood in the Holy Land still cries out to God -- an anguished cry for peace."
--from The Blood of Abraham, by Jimmy Carter

Ahh, I had three precise quotations from Torah, Bible and Koran all explicitly saying that Judaism, Christianity an Islam followers are in fact worshipping one and the same deity and should love each others as sisters and brothers.

Gotta dig it up.

Oh dear, for how long I´ve been trying to find this special edition from El Norra Alila, same goes for Sahara!
Is it also possible that Sahara will be available soon? If so - please tell me/us! :)
especially Sahara is desperately needed by me :D

And here is a link stating to Muslims that music in relation to Koran is not forbidden!
