Hello my name is Scott Harvey. I am currently in my final year of my degree in Sound and Music Production and I’m writing my dissertation on the production techniques of heavy metal. I’m contacting as many producers as I can to try and compile research from the professionals so i thought this would also be a great place to ask.

If there’s any chance you could give me your preferred methods on this subject I would be very grateful.
If you could give me information on how you would produce drums, guitars, bass, vocals and other miscellaneous instruments that would go into a heavy metal production and any techniques that would be more tailored to this genre such as triggering drums, duplicating guitar tracks, close micing drums and also mixing mixing and editing techniques. Any information will be useful and will greatly help. Thank you for your time.
