you really can't swim? i never understand how people can not know how to swim...

really cant. probably could to save my life. well, probably not but youll never find me out in a body of water anyway

I always loved my grandfather's story about how he learned to swim. They took him and several kids (around 10 years old I think), and tossed them into an unfriendly river, wishing them luck to make it out alive. Pennsyltucky rules.

I could barely swim myself. I can make my way around a pool. (Swim from one side to the next, grab the edge, take a breath, repeat.) But if I was thrown in the middle of the Pacific, I'd be a goner. :(

I can swim, its the whole holding my breath that sucks. 20 seconds and im done for.

Well, if you hold your breath while diving either: your lungs explode or bubbles form in your blood and you get the bends. Depending on if you swim up or down.

I want to dive in the Red Sea! I hear its amazing...

I've been diving in the Bahamas, US Virgin Island, and Hawai'i, and only recently around New England (which is where I live, so I shoulda started sooner!).

I'm trying to get a buddy to head to Lake Winipesauki soon, to dive a train wreck...I'm interested in diving things that arn't aquatic, hah. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles...im so clever.

Next paycheck in a week =

mmmmmmm, stuff...

ALSO: To all you canadians (looking at you Conspic) BC was voted number 1 dive destination in a number of catagories in a few reader-polls in a few magazines. That is a high honor, up against EVERYWHERE in the entire world. People would rather dive in BC then tropical areas, keep it in mind and GO FIND A DIVE CENTER, you spoiled cunts, haha.

dude, i am so doing it this summer ... what do those PADI certifications run?

even met someone last weekend that has like 5 levels of certifications and is as experienced as you ... and is willing to come along with me.

don't forget the mountain climbing, skiing, and some amazing salt and fresh water fishing. Some of the most world famous hiking trails and provincial parks to boot. Oh, yeah, and canada's highest waterfall is like 30 minutes from home.
