DIVISION, MIRROR BLACK, OTTOMAN EMPIRE and BLACK CASKET have been confirmed for Midwest Metal Anthem 2007, a two-day festival that will showcase 12-14 bands from Chicago and the Midwest area. The event will take place on Friday, August 24 and Saturday August 25 at J.J. Kelly's (2455 Bernice Rd.) in Lansing, Illinois. The festival billing is now shaping up as follows:

EDEN'S FALL
SACRED DAWN
DIVISION
MIRROR BLACK
RAVENSTHORN
OTTOMAN EMPIRE
BAVMORDA
SOULS DEMISE
ANCIENT CREATION
BLACK CASKET

The remaining two or three bands, including Saturday's headliner, will be announced soon.

Commented show promoter Ray Smith: "Due to the overwhelming success of last year's Chicago Metal Anthem, we have decided to expand the annual event into a two-day fest and also feature bands from surrounding states. The amount of incredible underground metal bands in the Midwest region of the country is amazing. This fest gives the fans an opportunity to see many of these bands all on one stage."

Thanks Shaq, and thanks for supporting us over at Metal-Rules!

This trip was "interesting" last time, when we had an author and an S&M guy with us. I imagine it'll be just as entertaining on our own this go around. I'll pack the camera.

Unfortunately, the turnout wasn't so hot, but that had everything to do with the nasty weather/flooding causing all sorts of road closures. The brave souls who made it out got their asses suitably kicked. Hopefully Ronky Tonk will post the pictures soon.

He looked worse when he had short hair and a mustache.
