Posting this here since it might interest those of you who have a drumkit at home and neighbours downstairs :

I've been renting a Roland TD4 e-kit for a couple of months and my neighbour from downstairs started to complain about the loud vibration noise i was doing when drumming due to the kick and hihat stomping movements.

So i decided to build my own DIY drums tennis ball impact noise isolation platform following the instructions on this amazing thread on the Roland Vdrums forum :

http://vdrums.com/forum/showthread.php?45889-Tennis-Ball-Impact-Noise-Isolating-Platform

Took me way more time than expected and costed me some monies and was a real pain in the ass but when i asked my neighbour if it worked he said yes so it was well worth it in the end. He could hear no more loud low vibrations, only slight pad hitting noise, which he can live with.
I also tried to put a glass of water next to my platform, on both kick and hihat sides, and the water was not moving at all (whereas it used to big time). I could also feel the bounce and shock absorption of the platform just by standing on it. I'm also glad it's not very wobbly.

Detailed report of mine here (what i used exactly, how much it costed me, pictures...) :
