Do these guitars sound boxy?

are you happy with the tone when standing in front of the amp?? you seem to have a lot of mids try knocking them back a bit 6505 is a very middy amp.

I usually run the mids a good bit less prominent, but it sounded scooped to me on play back.

My live settings are:
master - 7
edge I volume - 3
treble - 5
mids - 5
bass - 7
gain - 8

6505+ lead channel:
pre gain - 7
bass - 7
mids - 4
treble - 5-6
post gain - 3
resonance - 7
presence - 5


My thought was to try and get a nice tone from the amp as it sounds through my monitors vs. how it sounds in the room. I'm going to go back to my live settings and re-tweak. I think I'm overthinking it a bit. I really dig my tones on our last EP, I think I'm doing too much to try to top it and I'm making it worse. I may also throw up a few more mics to test other placements.

yea it does sound scooped a little on playback but on those settings it should be verry middy maybe its the mic placement like you said.

also it feels like it has no balls hmmm you have a link to some of your other recorded tracks that you like?
