I used to like it alot a few years back, but got bored with it..
I still dig Helloween alot, and I consider many of the newer bands clones of Hellowen and Gammaray wich invented the genre in a way....

I love Euro-metal. It is the closest thing out there to real heavy metal in my opinion. By real heavy metal I'm talking about bands such as Saxon, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Running Wild, Udo/Accept, Grave Digger, Sinner, Rage, and Dirty Deeds just to name a few. Euro-metal is very close to this style in my opinion in that they have singers who sing, guitarists who play solos,and have melody in their songs and music. These are all ingrediants for good quality TRUE heavy metal/hard rock music rather than the so called NU-METAL/RAP METAL that is popular here in the states right now. I do not like any of this music at all. While I don't want to knock anyone's taste in music, this is not heavy metal to me. I don't know what it is. We're told it's heavy metal but the record companies, radio stations, magazines and MTV will never convince me. England gave us heavy metal and reigned supreme for several decades and Germany has been kicking magor butt for the last two decades. The list of great true metal bands from Germany is seemingly endless. I would argue that Germany is currently THE leader in true heavy metal. I hope European metalheads know how lucky they are in that they have ready access to such great metal music. So many great bands that will likely never play in the states and I can only follow via the internet. Thanks to the internet I've been able to discover that TRUE heavy metal is alive and well and living throughout Europe.
well u say that helloween are a rip off of iron maiden, to an extent i can see what u mean but not really, i mean helloween is far more technical and they r quite different now, i prefer helloween to iron maiden, i love both though.

i as another true metal head in america, could not agree with you more. i love metal from europe (as well as japan)

hammerfall
edguy
rhapsody(and all thier side projects)
nightwish
freedom call
grave digger
rammstein
ten(more melodic but still good)
and of course the greats-iron maiden, saxon, accept etc..
Why?
Because Accept is from germany.
Because the spanish bands sing in spanish and not in english.
Because the country in Europe like Sepultura.
And yet I have other motives, but my fingers pain now, I can not write now
