Doro/Sister Sin/7 Kingdoms Fri Tampa

My friends and I found ZERO online presence for the actual Brass Mug, if this show sells out it's due to the bands promoting and the fans. Most of their stuff reflects the old address on Fletcher still, their Facebook page hasn't been updated since we were on 56k modems... very odd for this to be lacking.

Yes that is very sad and frustrating as well. People who have lived in Tampa forever, we all know about the Mug. It's been around forever, just moved recently. But their myspace page was shit and the fb page is never updated. It's amazing that anyone ever shows up to any shows due to their lack of promotion. If it wasn't for enter the vault's mailing list I'd never know anything was there unless I read about it online (like here for example).

I agree....the Enter the Vault mailing list always has the shows listed and usually Pollstar....I still don't remember seeing anything on either of those for Helstar. In comparison, the State Theater in St. Pete usually does a great job in updating their site.

It was a great show, and relatively on time, so I will probably show up at the actual 7:30 start time for the Sabaton show tonight, as opposed to showing up a couple hours late, heh. It's nice to see that the venue seems to be a little more professional than they were at the old location. Their online presence is still complete crap though. They don't even have a website, just a Facebook page with the occasional random update. Like, I would have checked out the Helstar show last week if I had some advance notice. Though that may have actually been the band themselves announcing it with little notice.

The Doro show was a very enjoyable, very high-energy show though, and that's coming from someone who has only heard a couple Doro / Warlock albums, and never heard any Sister Sin before. Also, kudos to Seven Kingdoms... you guys were especially locked-in last night, probably more than any time I've seen you in the past... have you maybe been rehearsing a lot for your upcoming tour? :) Also, does anyone remember the names of the first couple bands that played? I somehow either forgot or didn't pick up on those band names...

Thank you! Super glad you enjoyed the set! We were actually able to practice for about an hour before the show yesterday, so we were already warmed up :))) great turn out! Doro even stayed till about 3am signing and taking photos with EVERYONE. Incredibly cool for her to do that

Ya man! We played:

After The Fall
Flame Of Olympus
Symphony Of Stars
Forever Brave
Into Darkness

All of those besides into the darkness are on 'the fire is mine', into the darkness is off the self titled release :)

Well if there was any doubt Doro's tour wasn't gonna draw, it's been murdered. Last night was amazing, Empire (formerly Jaxx) was nearly sold out, and that's during the gaddamn SUPERBOWL. I repeat; on a SUNDAY night.. during the SUPER BOWL.. there was an f'ing crowd, and that's with only 1 local opener (us), and thats with us actually making a substancial profit on ticket sales and merch. This was a pleasant surprise of the highest degree, considering that the very first time I ever saw Doro live it was at the old Jaxx, on a week night, and I don't think more than 20 people were there.

Nearly sold out? There were what, 60 people there? Doro mentioned the small crowd size on stage a couple of times.

It was pretty crowded while I was there. Maybe they left early? >_> I know I did, because I had to work the next day. I was told, before I left, that they made a significant profit that night, which is really good considering how they used to go into the red for so many shows in the late Jaxx era.

(All this being said, I really thought all those people were there specifically to see Doro. Maybe they were there for Sister Sin, but I didn't get a chance to find out, and before anyone calls me out, I wouldn't go on an ego trip and say they were there for us.. lol)

The floor was mostly empty for all three bands. You should have stuck around. Doro's set was incredible. Sure, I'm a zombie today, but I got to meet Doro.:notworthy

Alright, now I need to see some photos because the floor looked full when I left. The bar certainly was!

(I'm starting to think I have "post gig high". Maybe I'm wrong about there being a bazillion people, but as much money as we and the venue made it was definitely a successful night!)
