It should officially be available on the 9th of December - but the songs (Burden-edit, Mellotron Heart & Would?) are already on iTunes.
There's no news on this on Opeth website (the news is on MySpace).

I'm pretty sure there will only be a download release. There's still no news on the website, perhaps they don't wanna people to know that there's a new release coming soon

It's not just going to be a download release mike said they will most likely put the ep out on a 7 inch vinyl sometime in the future, possibly a hard copy cd to but i havent heard anything on that

That link is a really dumbed down, illiterate-friendly way of saying "it's fine".
I have been using Amazon for my downloads. The are in .mp3 format and a 256kbps rate. I have had no problems with Amazon files. And they have Would? for $0.99 or free for 5 pepsi points if you are in the U.S.
An EP is a vinyl record, CD, or music download which contains more music than a single, but is too short to qualify as an LP (Full Album)
