Draconians new album finished

I am a huge Draconian fan, just found out that they just finished recording their newest album "Turning Season Within" and its due for release Jan 08.


" Draconians fourth album is now completed. It was born in Fascination Street studio (Opeth, Katatonia, etc.) in Örebro, Sweden, during September. For this recording the band invited U.S. Novembers Doom vocalist Paul Kuhr for the narrative parts of the album. The album, which will be entitled "Turning Season Within", has just gone through the last stages of mixing and we can assure you; producer Jens Bogren did an amazing job in shaping Draconians so far heaviest and most reflective creation. The release is set for late January 2008.

In other news; Draconian part ways with keyboardist session-member Elena Andersson after 14 months of service. The band gives their thanks and wishes Elena the best of luck in her various musical projects and future endeavours.

Draconian also would like to take the opportunity to thank Yishai, Yuri and Raven Music for their amazing kindness and generosity for having us in Tel Aviv, Israel performing together with Therion and Distorted in late August. Also a big salutation to the Israeli fans for their compliments and incredible dedication."

This band covered Pentagram's "Forever My Queen" and butchered it quite horribly. An unforgiveable offense. Besides that, their own music sounds lackluster. Nuts to them!

You lucky Europeans... I wish Draconian would do some shows over in the US but I doubt it.. :\

Funny thing is, their show here in Israel suffered from such bad sound that you could barely recognize the songs. Therion's show, on the other hand, was awesome.
They're an amazing band, I can't wait for the new album.

Another little update with the album

DRACONIAN have completed their new album. "Turning Season Within" was recorded at Fascination Street Studios by producers Jens Bogren and David Castillo (OPETH, KATATONIA). On their lastest output, DRACONIAN continue to uniquely unite Doom and Gothic Metal. Thus, Turning Season Within comprises more up-tempo parts, an enhanced heaviness, and the band..s most personal lyrics to date. "Failing and breaking releationships, the resulting pain, and the art of dealing with it is an essential theme," says vocalist Anders. Belgian artist Dennis Sibeijn will express the band..s vision graphically.



Turning Season Within will be released on February 29, 2008.

I hope by "up tempo parts" they mean stuff like the dramatic riff in Through Infectious Waters and the beginning of Silent Winter.
