Here's my opinion on the subject. Dream Theater are a solid band with some really great songs. Portnoy is really not that great, but he's decent. Peart is awesome. Reinert and Jarzombek (Bobby, not Ron) smoke them both. Queensryche is a mediocre hard rock band with a lot of glam tendencies (just look at the damn insert on some of their older discs, they're all in makeup and shit, so glam), and Tate's voice always grated on me. I really don't understand why everyone loves them so much; I used to laugh at their videos on Headbanger's Ball, that is, after I was done gagging. I guess they had some alright stuff, but it certainly wasn't groundbreaking. PoS are talented, but they're just too long-winded and not heavy enough to keep my interest; maybe someday I'll "get" them.

Now everyone can flame me, yay!!

Too bad Tate doesn't still have that range, while Dickinson can still hit ALL the notes he needs to while running around the stage like a fucking nut. Tate basically just stands there & hits wrong note after wrong note. It's pretty sad, & was glaringly obvious when I saw them both the same night. And, if Tate still has the range, he has definitely lost the control.

Exactly. Plus Dickinson has a much more distinctive and original singing voice. I can never pick Tate out of a crowd of metal singers.
