Dream Theater finds new drummer

Thomas Lang is a beast behind the kit.
Aquiles is a great drummer too (that video reminds me of Mark Zonder).

Lang is a beast as well. Great drummer especially from a technical standpoint.
Aquiles reminds me of Zonder on his ride cymbal work as well.

Of course it's a matter of a personal taste, just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was dissing Prester just like that.

Absolutely no offense taken. I hear an enormous amount of "style" in Aquiles' playing. However, if someone's style doesn't click with me, they don't stand out over anyone else. t is probably the same with you.

Curious you mention his name. I just knew about him because he plays on the new Tony MacAlpine album and I looked for some background.

He's played with a lot of people, everything from Death Metal to Jazz Fusion.....Incredible drummer.....

The song is good but not groundbreaking, but Mangini does a great job indeed, was a wise choice.

And yes let's hope the rest of the album goes in the same vein. Then I may consider forgive them for the last four studio albums

I also don't think it's a really "groundbreaking" good song, but style wise it's the exact sound I wanna hear from DT ! Fingers crossed !!

Just had a first listen at the full album and I'm very positive; this one will grow on me for sure.
Luckily no thrash-like songs, just good old DT stuff !!!!

Yeah, it's a really good album. Breaking All Illusions, at least for me, is the best song they've written in over a decade.

Agree. No growls, no bad Metallica-like songs.

I only listened once and convinced me to preorder it. At least no SDOIT, TOT, BCASL type of album.
