Hey guys, I see everybody doing the direct drop box links... and im having a hard time trying to get it to work. all i can get is the download page for it, can somebody help?

Log in on dropbox.com, put a file in your "public" folder, right click the file and click "copy public link"

You can also just right click and click "share file" but I've never done it that way since I assumed there was going to be permissions issues if it's not in my public folder. No idea if that's true though.

Protip is to download the software as well if you haven't already. Apparently there's some people that doesn't do this and they miss out on it's best feature; drop a file in the dropbox folder on your pc and it'll instantly upload to the servers.

ValleyStudios: just put ?dl=1 at the end of the link, that should trigger the download right away.

Seth: you can share any file, even those not in the Public folder.

This is extremely useful for sharing stuff without having to copy them to the public directory first. For example, I have a backup of the tracks for my band's album in a Dropbox non-public folder, one song per directory. I needed to share one of those songs to a friend, and I just clicked "Share link" on that directory. Now my friend has access to all the files in the directory. Also, there's even a "Download as zip" option on the shared page so you can grab the entire directory in one click.

A bunch of awesome stuff I didn't know about dropbox! Thank you!

I think it's bc I got it way back before they had some of these features.
