Thinking about trying reamping (need direction)

Ok so I bought a Mesa Dual Rec Roadster a couple of weeks ago, and would love to try to record with it. I don't have any mic's besides a 58, and so I was thinking I could just record it direct and use impulses. I love the flexibility of reamping, but don't think I entirely understand the possibilities of reamping. If I was wanting to record direct through my mesa and use impulses what would yield the best results? A direct box or a reamp box? Also I use a Line 6 UX 2 toneport as a interface for the guitars. Since it's my first time I figured I'd ask you guys what would be the best setup here so I don't spend countless hours trying to figure out how to get it right.

Thanks

You need a direct box for tracking the DIs and a reamp box to reamp the dry signal you just recorded through your Mesa head. There are some units that have both functions (DI and reamp box). Do a search on the forum.
