Drop E, bass test (real bass)

sooo.. did a drop E and got someone to record the bass for me,
did a little experiment with it, one pitched guitar, one bass in the same
octave, and one pitched bass.. wich one do you like and think fits
the mix the best?

but I'm not quite following you here. did you use a bass tuned to E standard and pitch shifted it down an octave? and guitars, freaking 9-stringers or something? haha

i know a band that are epic/melodic called the elijah, (check them out http://www.myspace.com/theelijahuk) but they have started playing in drop g on their new stuff, but not for heavyness just for the fact its so epic the low notes work so well, but even then thats the thickest 7 string gauge all moved down so it fits on a 6 string guitar, so drop e what the f*** are you using!?

@backe: spot on! exept it's detuned 7th string.. haha a bit overkill? think it's standard 0.10 set on it... btw, did you have a drummer named nidas?

Sounds sick to me, man. I'm a fan of the same-octave bass, but I also like the pitched. I wish the guitars were just a little punchier.
