I've just started playing around with gating drum tracks, and I'm looking for some feedback - I've been mucking about with the same track for so long I'm not sure if the gating is really obvious or if it's just because I know it's there.
I'm not worried about the sound so much, just how the gating is working and whether it really stands out (and if it will still sit in a mix okay):
Her Ghost In You - drums (the site is a bit slow at the moment)
And before anyone says anything about the track: no click track, padded beaters on the bass pedal (lots of dynamics in the kick
), dead snare skin, cracked crash (the one on the right), and this was the first take.
