em... well lets start...
1.-whats the most difficult song you can play?
2.-first song you played
3.-favorite drummer
4.-worst drummer

1.-i can play anything :D
2.-smells like teen spirit
3.-joey jordison (slipknot) people say mike portnoy is the best but he aint that good... prog metal aint that hard on drums, slipknot is harder
4.-ringo starr (beatles)

hey man, about time we have a drummers thread around here.
1. im the same, if i hear something i can play it.
2. first song? ... prolly some crappy Eve 6 or Nivrana song. stuff i was into when i was like 9.
3. Jason Rullo, obviously.
4. prolly the guy from Staind. he just looks stupid. and i dont care if he sees that. i want him to know that. him or the guy from New Found Glory. he has a crappy name, set, band, pretty much everything. it doesnt help that he's not that great of a drummer either. im cool with most drummers though.
5. 6 years.
6. describe ur set! ... 8 piece Tama starclassic performer EFX. 8, 10, 12, 13, 14 toms, 22 bass, 14 snare, 13 piccolo snare (turned off for a sort of timbale effect), DW 9002 double pedal (love 'em) Vic Firth 5BN sticks, evans drumheads, 12 sabian cymbals, PDP rack. set color = Sterling Silver. NOT*** cuza metallica. i just like the color. its been called "the pimp kit", and one of "the monsters"

I'm not a drummer, but I'll speak for my brother (who is):

1. Not sure...he said a lot of Symphony X's songs are very hard and many Dream Theater songs are easy, though.
2. Some Anthrax song, I think.
3. I'm pretty sure it's Neil Peart.
4. Lars Ulrich

ive heard all of those and i can play their music but joey always gives me a hard time!
maybe it depends on what techinques your better at so...

6.-crappiest set on earth... imagine this... it aint tama...it aint pearl... its CENTURY........:( but at least the cymbals are nice... (stolen or borrowed hehehe)
and their a mix from zildjian sabian and paiste in different models and sizes so... pretty crappy set

7.-favorite song to play

mine would be... slayer-live undead

okay.. what ever..

Just you have played 2 years and you can play like Dennis Chambers...

Its means you have to play 12 hours in day with good teacher. Hmm.. Listen Greg Howe,Victor Wooten, Dennis Chambers - Extraction (track one
extraction).

Dennis Chambers is awesome. i saw that video he did with Tony Royster, Jr. they both pwned it. thomas lang is another good one. as for playing pretty much anything after 2 years, i know i couldnt. after 6 years though, i'd say most things come pretty easy to me.
7. prolly any SX/DT song. another favorite is playing quints (drumline). its fast and flows real well, and u get lotsa solos, sometimes 1 measure, other times there 4 measure ones, and lotsa improv goes with it. (especially when ur 2nd seat, section leader:cool:) ... i dont know if anyone else on here is in a drumline, but if ur considering it, definately do it. joey's stuff was never really all that hard i dont think, i mean the guy's got some skeeells but ... its not that deep. I got one more ... who got you started with drumming? for me its pretty sad ... Zac Hanson. 4th grade, i saw one of their videos and thought: hey! i should grow my hair long and be a drummer!, and look where i am now. other than him, John Otto of Limp Bizkit really got me into it, and my uncle who also plays drums, kinda got me started.

mmm i thought prog headbangers would be open minded... im sorry for telling you what i can play because you cant accept theres people better than you... maybe i got the gift or something but i know a lot of people that can play what i can play in the same or less years of experience... believe me or not i can play those things, im sorry i wont mention them again i didnt think you would turn agressive just because i can do that... in the other hand i know nothing about theory and just because u guys know more than i do doesnt mean im gonna turn mad and call you shitbags and stuff. be more open minded and realize there are people who can play easily things you think are hard

Hardest Song - Inferno or the Odyssey
Fav Drummer Virgil Donati / Jason Rullo / Gary Marotta
First Song Blink 186 - The Small Things Song
Shittiest Drummer - White Stripes excuse for a drummer
Fav. Song to Play Communion and The Oracle or Accolade II

Hey, I've been playing 8-10 months now, I think im doing pretty well - 15, and Im on a shitty kit with shittier cymbals.

v0ic35, wanna send me 2 cymbals? I dont think you'd notice! lol

urinal, i'd be glad to help u out, but i just broke one yesterday! i'm down to 11, it was my favorite crash cymbal, 16" Sabian AAX Dark Crash. i'll miss you buddy, R.I.P. ... yeah i'll just work my ass off and get a new one. yeah, Communion is real fun to play:cool:

Most pogbangers (or whatever you call 'us') are open minded....but not gullible.

I'd say there is more than one person who would kick my ass in a drum contest...i'm a guitarist.

I'm a music teacher and i know how quick people can progress on instruments even if they are really talented...or have 'the gift'.

I suppose you can play all Coltrane's stuff on the sax too?

shutup.

This thread was almost enjoyable reading, but this arrogant self glorifying crap is just too damn painful. If you actually were as great as you claim to be then you wouldn't feel such a strong need to boast about yourself because people who actually do go through lots of effort to become better musicians realize all their own weaknesses and what they don't know the more they improve. This also results in seeing others' strengths. Sorry we aren't all the prodigy you are... or actually... I'm terribly sorry we don't all CLAIM to be the prodigy that you are.

go away.

But see- my cymbals are pure shit:

Zildjian Amir Hi-hats
Amir Thin Crash
Zildjian ride that has a really dark tone, and rings like a bell for rediculous amounts of time no matter WHERE you hit it.

Cant i get like a Sympathy cymbal? heh

I can play anything by Pete Sandoval from Morbid Angel, Gene Hoglan from
Death, and all of Portnoy's and Rullo's stuff. Dennis Chambers is easy too. I played for about 8 years, then quit to focus on guitar more, so it's been at least 6 years since I played, but I'm sure I can play it all still.

Talon is a horrible brand of drums too.
